Charged tracks found in the CDC are linked to clusters of pixels in the VXD by extrapolating each track and selecting the best set of associated clusters[7]. A set of clusters may not be shared by multiple tracks. The track parameters are then recalculated, accounting for multiple scattering. In tau-pair events, at least one VXD cluster is linked to a well-measured CDC track in 99%of the cases.
