Implementation Details: Making changes to the ducs version command

The ducs version command is implemented in the routine produduc:uducs.prepmnlb and the command definition file produduc:uducs.cldlib.

After making changes to these files,

• action uduc uducs.cldlib
• action uduc uducs.prepmnlb
• action uduc uducs.buildcom

Note also that, at least at SLAC, the DUCS command is implemented as an installed image. Changes to the version of uducs in produduc will not actually take effect until this installed image is replaced accordingly.

One can test a new version of uducs before this takes effect by creating a new symbol, such as newducs, which points to one's own version of uducs, for example:

• newducs == "$disk$sld_usr0:[fred]uducs ducs"

One then issues commands such as

• newducs version 14.2
