The laser is polarized with a linear polarizer and a Pockels Cell, similarly to the way it is done for the polarized electron source. Measurements of laser polarization are made before and after the CIP. By monitoring and correcting for small phase shifts in the laser transport line, we are able to achieve laser polarization greater than 99.5% at the Compton IP.
